One of Detroit’s finest exports is legendary house and techno pioneer, Gari Romalis, and as we enter what could potentially be a summer of love he creates an outstanding four track EP, “Black Traxx Matter”, spreading a message which scratches way below the surface, using music as a tool to share. The body of work spans across distinctive and slinky deep house energy, oozing class and emotion, notably what we have all come to love and adore in Romalis’ back catalogue. Music from the soul, for the soul, coming soon on Italian label, Nicepeople. Opener “Black 2 Da Future” rides an effortlessly cool groove, brushing by in the summer breeze, paying homage to brighter days. Next up is “Black Diamondz (Africa Mix) consisting of a tight and punchy drum arrangement, and warm and infectious sub bass. Welcoming you with open arms. “Black Luv” is lighter on its feet than the previous tracks, a definite housey spring in its step, all of the elements conversing in sweet harmony. A cruise down nostalgia lane. “Purpose Reprise (Motivate Mix)” closes this wonderful EP, six and a half minutes of pure bliss which shifts into a pure and powerful moment when a spoken word sample enters the room, as the soft keys work their way around the message. A masterpiece body of work from one of the most esteemed artists in the game. Veteran Chicago House pioneer Boo Williams delivers stand out genre melding EP on Italian record label, NICEPEOPLE. The three track EP meanders through elements of house and techno with real depth. This is the “LOL” EP, landing January 2021 on vinyl, and you can happily say this one fully lives up to its expectations. The title track “LOL” chugs along with pure energy of sounds of the past, twisting beeps and bleeps whirring throughout. The shuffling drums make this one, brushing by as they continue to drive the opener. The clue is in the title here as Williams uses trippy samples of laughter which flash in and out throughout the duration. Next on the agenda is “Backwards Run”, a blissful deep and emotive encounter with Boo doing what he does best. Trickling synths and pads meander around a clean cut house arrangement, voices circle around the belly of the track making this another hypnotic outing. Elastic bass creates a sense of urgency in “Bangin Out”, the last of the EP which takes up the whole of the B-side. A real abrupt and direct track, the kind that leaves the crowd in a trance when utilised in the right moment, creating suspense in the club room before elevating to the next track. A tinge of acid and intelligent keys arrangement make this masterpiece. This is Boo Williams at his finest once more, landing on a label that is not afraid to push a variety of sounds as long as the consistent quality is there. A real nod to sounds of the past, no egos in sight, just plain and simple effective dance floor sounds from one of the heroes of this vibe.

Italian one stop shop for feel good vibes, NICEPEOPLE return this December 7th with a fantastic release from singer, songwriter, Khadeeja Grace. The three track EP entitled “Gotta Paint” contains one original from the female artist, and two killer remixes from Giuseppe Scarano and Bari based, Soulvibe Inc. Classy, deep and emotive music from all involved. Expressing herself via the forms of words, sounds and rhythms is something Khadeeja Grace seems to accomplish with ease and a certain tenacity, and this is no different in her title track “Gotta Paint”. The Chicago based producer makes this an easy on the ears affair, her distinctive silk like vocals carry the track, as a breezy and laidback house beat works its magic, clean percussion standing out here. It’s almost impossible not to smile when listening to this one, lifting the mood of the listener in an instant. Next up is Giuseppe Scarano’s 90s mix, an illusive house track spreading the message of the label direct from the founder. This remix is almost seven minutes of nostalgic bliss, strongly representing the 90s narrative of big chunky drums and warm and infectious bass lines. Closing off the EP is Soulvibe Inc. with his 80s version of “Gotta Paint”, his decades of experience really show here allowing his vast knowledge and love for music to breathe life into this disco-esque remake, with a hint of electro funk. Khadeeja’s incredible vocals meld into each of the versions, showing her versatile vocals can really be in house music, and in an era where they often seem lost, NICEPEOPLE go back to the roots and it pays off for the label.

After the highly acclaimed ‘Positive Vibes’ EP by Orlando Voorn, the Dutchman able to forge links with the Detroit originators thanks to his Midas touch, and abandoned the dancefloor-oriented vibes of ‘Feel Good’ - label head honcho Giuseppe Scarano’s debut EP, including a powerful remix by Chi legend Paul Johnson - and of Soulvibe Inc.’s ‘Inside To Outside’, NICEPEOPLE drops a blissful brand new EP without compromise from veteran US deep house producer Vincent Floyd. After his releases in the mid-90’s for Dance Mania, Relief and Gherkin Records offshoot Resound Records, it was only in 2014 that original Chicago deep house producer has enjoyed something of a career renaissance with the release of ‘Moonlight Fantasy’ on Rush Hour and, since then, he’s been a man in highly demand. NICEPEOPLE is glad to welcome his understated but utterly engrossing deep house sound he's made his own since the early days. ‘Music Therapy’ opens up with the mesmerizing house haze of the eponymous track, testament to Floyd's impeccable composition and production skills, that drives us through wonderful dreamy sceneries, to then catapult us into the notably skippy beats and chiming melody lines of ‘What Have We Done?’. On the flip the infamous Italian producer Nico Lahs, one of the most worldwide appreciated Italian artists of the last ten years, on remix duties, who supplies a more jackin’ version and brings it to the next level adding more emphasis and percussive grit without ever neglecting the melodious goodness. To close ‘You Never Knew Me’, a deeper track with a sumptuous introspective sound very much in the classic deep house mould of Larry Heard.

Following second vinyl EP from label head honcho himself Giuseppe Scarano, including a heavy-hitting remix by the Chi house legend Paul Johnson, the newborn and rising Italian label NICEPEOPLE announces its second digital release and the return to the music scene of the Italian talent Soulvibe Inc., who after a 4 years hiatus from his first EP, 'Satisfy My Soul', is back with 'Inside To Outside', a killer dancefloor 2-track EP. The opening and eponymous track, 'Inside To Outside', is a disco-tinged cut, that seems to come straight from the 90's and from the best French house tradition, as well as for the second track, 'Funk It Up', which boasts an infectious groove, that will get for sure the party started. Definitely not a set-filler. This is club dynamite!
